5a. About the unit: American accent nuances
If you've mastered the previous modules and worked on some of the intonation lessons, you should have all the tools to pass as a native speaker of English of unidentifiable origin. You should have mostly eliminated most of your non-native Russian accented English features. People should start occasionally thinking you're a native speaker.
In this module, you will learn how to sound more specifically American. We will cover a few of the most common accent features of American-accented English. These features are uncommon in other types of English, but common in North American English (Canadian & American dialects). When you master these accent features, you will really increase the chances people will actually think you're native because you're speaking not just without a foreign accent but with a specific native accent!
